Pair of Spurs

German or Hungarian

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 371

The decoration of these spurs, with their crest of stylized fleur-de-lis and their hatched engraving, is originally German, while the large rectangular buckles and the circular tabs with hooks are Hungarian. They may be Hungarian spurs inspired by German motifs.
