Now that the Renaissance Portrait exhibition, which has been the subject of our blog since its January launch, has closed, the Teen Advisory Group will shift its focus to a different area of the collection: the American Wing. The Museum has just completely renovated the American Paintings and Sculpture Galleries, and the teens will be exploring and blogging about them over the next several months. Next week, TAG Member Audrey will introduce you to the new galleries and share the works of art that we will focus on.
The teens are also helping to prepare for our next big event, an American Wing Murder Mystery on April 20. It will be like the game Clue, but better. You won't want to miss it!
In January, we held a Renaissance-themed teen night. Teens talked about identity and dress in the Renaissance, made contemporary portrait medals, and toured the Renaissance Portrait exhibition. There was even a photo booth where teens could dress up in Renaissance costume and get their pictures taken. If you missed the exhibition, do not worry; all of the portraits the teens blogged about are part of the Met's permanent collection. Check out photos of the event below, and make sure to return next week to hear what Audrey thinks about our move to the American Wing.
