Ninth plate of the second series of the pochoir textile pattern book, titled "Studio d'arts décoratifs", with Art Deco textile designs created by Nicolas Sorokine and published in Paris by Armand Guérinet, probably in the second half of the 1920s or the early 1930s. The series consists of a title page with index and 12 plates with designs numbered 1-12, each with numerous designs, bound with dark blue linen boards. The designs contain a variety of geometric motifs, birds and flowers, all typical of the Art Deco style, which was characterized by its eclecticism, drawing from a variety of sources that sought to combine old European design traditions with the modern style diffused by avant-garde art, while also reflecting the romantic fascination with early Egyptian and Meso-American "exotic" cultures promoted by archaeological discoveries of the times.

This plate consists of five designs for backgrounds and borders with semi-abstract floral motifs. The first design is made up of horizontal rows of semi-abstract flowers executed with gray outlines over a cream ground: the first row contains just the flowers, made with sticks, circles and small squares, the second contains more elaborate semi-abstract flowers inside roundels, and in the third row the background is colored with turquoise; below it are a series of triangles and intersecting diagonal lines colored with gray over a white ground. The decond design is made up of rows of semi-abstract flowers and fruit motifs (?) inside roundels, executed with blue and dark gray. The third design is made up of rows of semi-abstract gray sunbursts with offsetting thin branches with yellow and gray leaves and semi-abstract flowers with gray petals and yellow pistils, separated by groups of gray and yellow triangles. The fourth design is made up of alternating vertical stripes with semi-abstract roses and alternating pairs of semi-abstract flowers and branches with leaves, colored with shades of gray and green over a white ground. The final design is made up of vertical rows of semi-abstract flowers and leaves executed with white and dark bluish-green over a gray ground separated by vertical semi-abstract garlands with leaves executed with gray over a white ground.
