Middle Kingdom–Early New Kingdom

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 109

The excavator interpreted this length of hard wood as a mason's trowel, probably used for laying bricks. It is lightly spatulate at one end and was found encrusted with mud and straw.
