Marcos Grigorian Iranian

Not on view

This work by the pioneering Iranian-Armenian modernist Marcos Grigorian is from the series "Earthworks." His compositions are intimately connected to village life in Iran and utilize the basic materials, including straw, sand, and mud, that are used to build adobe-like dwellings and everyday utilitarian objects. They express his passion for the simplicity and beauty of life in Iranian villages.
