Landscape

Henry William Burgess British

Not on view

This tiny drawing represents a river winding through tree-lined banks with hills beyond. It may be an idea for a print design--in 1828 the artist designed ten lithographic illustrations for "Studies of Trees"--and in the present work the artist's mastery of characteristic tree forms is evident even at a miniature scale.
