Drawing, design for a woman's costume by Vincente Minnelli. The costume consists of a long gown with amethyst-color bodice, bell sleeves, and long, flare, white skirt with train and golden trimmings. The bodice is imbellished with white pearls and trimmings; the right sleeve is also of amethyst color, with scarlet lining, and embellished with a strip of pearls around the shoulder; the right sleeve is uncolored. Long, scarlet gloves cover the hands and arms. An amethyst headpiece with a golden headband and a large bundle of scarlet feathers covers the head. An open-winged, brown bird is perched on the left hand. An amethyst velvet swatch is attached at the lower right corner of the sheet.
