Inscription: Incised across bottom: MISERICORDIA ET MAGNIFICENTIA OPVS EIVS

At the time the plaque came to the Museum there was pasted on the back the following entry from an old auction catalogue: "Solomon Seated on his Throne in Judgment: an oval chasing in highest relief with numerous figures, the gardens of a palace in the background."
