An Evening with Katrin Sigurdardottir

On December 10, 2010, Katrin Sigurdardottir joined curators Anne Strauss and Daniëlle O. Kisluk-Grosheide to talk about her work for the exhibition Katrin Sigurdardottir at the Met, on view at the Museum from October 19, 2010, through June 5, 2011. Following the discussion, guests enjoyed drinks with the artist at a private reception, as well as a visit to the galleries.

Katrin Sigurdardottir (b. 1967) is the seventh artist to participate in an ongoing series of solo exhibitions at the Met featuring the work of contemporary artists at mid-career. The exhibition showcases two sculptural installations created specifically for the Metropolitan by the artist. Entitled Boiseries, the installations are interpretations of two eighteenth-century French rooms preserved at the Museum.
