The André Mertens Galleries will be closed through early 2010. While the galleries are closed, visitors may see objects from the collection of Musical Instruments in three exhibitions: "Silk and Bamboo" (September 5, 2009–February 7, 2010), "Watteau, Music, and Theater" (September 22–November 29, 2009), and "Sounding the Pacific: Musical Instruments of Oceania" (opens November 17, 2009).
