This wine jar is decorated with floral garlands like those used in representations of funerary feasts. Numerous jars of this sort were found in Sennedjem's tomb. Other objects in the collection that were discovered in the same tomb are numbered 86.1.1–86.1.29
Excavated by Maspero for the Egyptian Antiquities Service in the 1885-1886 season. Sold to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by the Egyptian government in 1886.
